Callisburg ISD teacher arrested, accused of soliciting someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl

A Callisburg ISD teacher was arrested at his home in Collinsville on Wednesday afternoon and booked into the Grayson County jail on a charge of online solicitation of a minor, and the district said it removed the employee from campus the same day and placed him on administrative leave.

Superintendent Chris Bradshaw confirmed the arrest in a statement the district posted to Facebook, quoted by KTEN. "We have been made aware that an employee of the district has been arrested," the statement said. "The employee was immediately removed from campus and placed on administrative leave while law enforcement investigates the charges." The district said the arrest involves conduct that took place off campus. The statement does not name the employee.

Grayson County jail records reviewed by GvilleTX identify the man as Spencer Brian Brewer of Collinsville, booked Sept. 9 under booking number 2026-3401 on a charge listed as online solicitation of a minor, sexual conduct. The record names the Collinsville Police Department as the agency and cites warrant number CPD#26-00076. It gives an offense date of Sept. 2, a week before the arrest. No bond amount and no release date appear on the record.

KXII reported Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. that Collinsville police told the station they arrested Brewer at his Collinsville home that afternoon, and that Brewer is employed as a fourth-grade math teacher in Callisburg. The district has not named the employee, and GvilleTX has not independently confirmed with the district that Brewer is the employee its statement describes.

The arrest grew out of a sting run by a private party rather than by investigators, according to KXII's account of what police said. The station reported that a third party posed online as a 13-year-old girl, made contact with Brewer, and then called Collinsville police.

The Instagram account edpwatch, which posts recordings of confrontations with people it accuses of soliciting minors, published video of the arrest. The footage is the account's own, not law enforcement video, and GvilleTX has not independently verified what it depicts.

Readers looking for the booking on this site will not find it. Collinsville sits in Grayson County, and the record of the arrest is held there.

Callisburg ISD enrolls about 1,189 students at its campus on Dozier Street in Callisburg, according to Texas Education Agency figures. Fourth grade sits in the district's elementary school.

Several things are not yet known. Neither the district nor police have said how long the employee has worked at Callisburg, whether the district was aware of any prior complaint, or whether the Texas Education Agency has been notified, which state rules require of districts in cases involving certain alleged misconduct. An attorney of record and a court date were not available Wednesday evening, and the jail record lists no bond. Neither Collinsville police nor the district has said whether any Callisburg student is connected to the allegation, and the reporting to date describes an adult posing as a child, not an actual child.
