Saturday will bring Gainesville an afternoon near 100°F, followed by nights warmer than September averages as the heat continues into Tuesday, according to National Weather Service forecasts and climate records. The city’s forecast eases slightly after Saturday. Across the Texoma locations reviewed, NWS predicts persistent heat through early next week, though none has triple-digit highs forecast for every day of the period. Sherman reaches that threshold Saturday; the forecast point southwest of Ardmore remains just below it.

Forecasters link the hotter weather to high pressure spreading across the Southern Plains. The Fort Worth office’s Friday discussion anticipates triple-digit weekend highs across most of North and Central Texas, with afternoons staying around that threshold into next week.
