Hit-and-run involving a pedestrian

Officers in the Gainesville area were on the lookout for a white 2021 Hyundai SUV reported in connection with a hit-and-run in which a pedestrian was struck. Units set up on the northbound side at Hockley Creek to watch for the vehicle, and another agency was in contact with dispatchers by phone during the search. Radio traffic later said the vehicle had been found just north of Hockley Creek, and an officer made contact at that location. The radio traffic does not say whether the pedestrian was hurt or where the original collision happened.
