Where can I go fishing near Gainesville, TX?

There are several excellent fishing spots near Gainesville:

Lake Texoma (20-25 minutes north)

• One of the best fishing lakes in Texas/Oklahoma
• Known for: Striped bass (striper), smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, catfish, crappie
• Fishing License: Texas or Oklahoma license (with Lake Texoma special permit for the other state)
• Multiple boat ramps and marinas on both sides

Lake Ray Roberts (30-40 minutes south)

• 29,000-acre reservoir
• Known for: Largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, white bass
• Access: Multiple parks and boat ramps
• Popular shore fishing at Johnson Branch and Isle du Bois units

Moss Lake (10 minutes north)

• City of Gainesville lake
