Easy Street's adoption page gives the shelter's address as 69 US Hwy 82 East in Saint Jo, not Gainesville.
How long Lewey has waited is not established in the shelter's own record. The Petfinder listing Easy Street maintains places him in the young category, roughly 1 to 3 years old, and carries no intake date. Age there is given as a range rather than a date, so the record shows how old he is and not how long he has been in a kennel. Nothing the shelter has published confirms a stay of about two years.
In a Facebook post, Easy Street asks how no one has adopted him yet and says he is ready to trade his kennel for a couch. The shelter's materials spell the name two ways, Lewey on the adoption listing and Lewy in the post, which affects online searches for him.
Weekday visits run by appointment, according to the shelter's adoption page. That page lists Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to noon and says the shelter closes on Sundays.

Animals impounded inside Gainesville follow a separate path. The city's animal control page says municipal Animal Control enforces the animal ordinance and that Noah's Ark Animal Shelter has care and custody of all impounded animals. City records show that work has been covered by contract. For fiscal year 2013-2014, the City Council approved an animal-shelter agreement with Noah's Ark that paid $100 for each animal the city delivered, with funding capped at $50,000. The vote was 5-0, with two council members absent.
