Four Stars Auto Ranch says salesman Mark Havens has reached 50 years in auto sales

The Henrietta dealership announced the milestone on its Facebook page. Its Texoma marketing area is wider than the three counties, Cooke among them, that the region's council of governments serves.

Four Stars Auto Ranch says salesman Mark Havens has reached 50 years in auto sales in North Texas. The Henrietta dealership published the milestone on its Facebook page, in a post that asked followers to join in congratulating him.

The dealership's post is the source for the 50-year figure. It did not name the employers Havens worked for before Four Stars, identify the towns where he sold vehicles across that span, or give a year-by-year account of the career. No starting date appears in the announcement, and the post did not say whether all 50 years were spent with Four Stars.

Four Stars operates in Henrietta, which the city describes on its website as the county seat of Clay County in North Central Texas. The dealership advertises to a wider area it calls Texoma. That name carries two documented meanings, one in the company's marketing and one in local government.

Both of the group's brand sites use the label. The Four Stars Chevrolet page presents the business as a Texoma destination for auto sales and service. Four Stars Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram states on its own site that its Henrietta dealership provides auto sales and service in Texoma, and that page markets the store to buyers in Wichita Falls, Burkburnett and Duncan, Oklahoma.

The Texoma Council of Governments, which says it has served the area since 1968, defines the term more narrowly. The council lists its Texas service area as Cooke, Fannin and Grayson counties. Cooke County, which includes Gainesville, is one of those three. Clay County is not, so the area named in the dealership's marketing and the area the council serves are not the same.

One customer review published by Four Stars names Havens directly. On the review page of the group's Chevrolet site, a confirmed sales customer from Wichita Falls identifies him as the salesman on the purchase. The same page carries reviewers from other nearby North Texas communities and from southern Oklahoma. That page is run by the dealership rather than an independent rating service, and it does not indicate how many Four Stars customers come from Cooke County.

The material cited here comes from Four Stars Auto Ranch, the City of Henrietta and the Texoma Council of Governments. None of it places Havens' work in Gainesville or elsewhere in Cooke County.
