Glory Wrestling Academy said its wrestlers competed in the Under the Lights tournament at Lubbock-Cooper High School in August, a Panhandle trip that gives North Texas readers another look at how youth wrestling is developing across the state. USA Wrestling lists the Lubbock-Cooper program at 910 Woodrow Road in Lubbock and lists Glory Wrestling Academy as a Texas club based in Stinnett.
The academy announced the Lubbock competition on its own Facebook page. The public post is connected in the available first-party record with a Facebook account styled DanielNashley Morgas, but the records reviewed for this report do not separately establish an exact role for Ashley Morgas with Glory Wrestling Academy.
For a Cooke County audience, the trip matters beyond one club's weekend schedule because Texas wrestling now gives boys and girls a formal path from youth mats into high school competition. The University Interscholastic League's wrestling plan says Texas high school wrestling includes boys and girls divisions in Class 5A and 6A, with smaller schools allowed to compete for full honors in 5A.
That structure reaches back more than a generation on the girls side. UIL's archive lists Texas girls wrestling state results beginning with the 1998-99 season, when all schools competed in one girls classification.
National participation data also show the sport drawing more girls. The National Federation of State High School Associations reported in its 2025-26 participation release that girls wrestling had about 89,000 participants nationwide, with championships conducted by 40 state associations.
USA Wrestling records show Glory Wrestling Academy wrestlers had appeared in prior competition before the Lubbock trip. Its 2025 Panhandle Nationals results list Daniel Morgas III and Jaken Stevens as Glory Wrestling Academy wrestlers in Middle School Boys 92-pound matches. USA Wrestling's placement records for the same event show Kendal Martinez of Glory Wrestling Academy placing second in a Girls 1, 55-pound division.
The academy also appeared in 2026 state-level youth results. USA Wrestling's 2026 Texas Freestyle and Greco State Championship results list Elias Morgas of Glory Wrestling Academy in the 12U Boys FS 63-pound bracket.
USA Wrestling's Texas club listings place Glory Wrestling Academy among other Panhandle-area wrestling programs. The same organization lists Dumas Wrestling in Dumas and Panhandle RTC in Amarillo, giving the Stinnett club regional competition and training points outside the larger Texas metro areas.
The available records do not include match-by-match results from Glory Wrestling Academy's August appearance at Lubbock-Cooper High School. They do show that the academy publicly reported taking wrestlers to Lubbock and that its wrestlers have appeared in USA Wrestling records across recent boys and girls youth brackets.
