President Donald Trump’s planned Texoma appearance will bring a midterm rally to the Choctaw Event Center in Durant, Oklahoma, on Oct. 1, 2026, according to the GOP’s official announcement. The event falls four days before Cooke County residents’ deadline to register for the November general election, according to the Texas secretary of state’s calendar.
The GOP page schedules the program for 6 p.m. Central time, with doors opening at 2 p.m. It gives the venue’s address as 3702 Choctaw Road in Durant and allows each registration to request as many as four tickets. The announcement describes the gathering as a midterm rally, and its payment disclosure identifies Trump 47 Committee, Inc. as the organization paying for the notice.
Cooke County voters strongly favored the Republican presidential ticket in the preceding election, according to the county’s official November 2024 results. Those returns show 16,975 votes for Trump and JD Vance, compared with 3,310 for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

For Texans planning to participate in this year’s general election, the secretary of state lists Oct. 5 as the registration cutoff. The same calendar places Election Day on Nov. 3 and sets the early in-person voting period for Oct. 19–30.
The GOP’s separate Mobile announcement schedules another Trump midterm rally for the following evening in Alabama. That event is listed for the Mitchell Center on Oct. 2, with a 6 p.m. Central start.
Oklahoma’s Republican registration advantage predates the current campaign. In a January 2015 announcement, the State Election Board reported that Republicans had moved ahead of Democrats in registered voters for the first time in state history.
By the board’s January 2026 registration count, Republicans made up a majority of Oklahoma’s registered electorate, while Democrats represented about a quarter. The registration records describe party affiliation statewide; the Cooke County returns record votes cast in a presidential election.

Durant also hosted President Barack Obama during his time in office, according to an archived White House transcript. The transcript records his July 15, 2015, address at Durant High School launching ConnectHome and discussing the federal government’s partnership with the Choctaw Nation. In that address, Obama described ConnectHome as an effort to lower the cost of home internet for people living in low-income housing through partnerships with communities across the country.
