Sherman's Hot Summer Nights concert series was set to close its 2026 season on Thursday, July 16, with Grupo Bryndis and Los Morros both listed on the lineup, according to the schedule posted by Sherman for the Arts. The concerts take place at Lucy Kidd-Key Park, 405 N. Rusk, in Grayson County. The series is a City of Sherman program and is not a Gainesville or Cooke County event.
The July 16 date marked the 32nd season of Hot Summer Nights, the series said in announcing the finale. Sherman for the Arts lists Grupo Bryndis with Los Morros for that evening on its schedule for the Thursday-night series, which the city stages on the park lawn through the summer.

Weather entered the picture in the hours before the concert. On its own account, Hot Summer Nights posted that a rain shower had passed through ahead of the show and that the performance was still on. The City of Sherman told residents the same, saying the final concert of the season remained on and inviting people out to the lawn. National Weather Service observations at the Sherman/Denison airport recorded humid conditions during the concert window on July 16, with relative humidity at 80 percent at 7:55 p.m. and 75 percent an hour later, at 8:55 p.m. Central time.
Sherman runs the series through its Tourism and Main Street office, which the city says promotes municipal activities and directs residents to vendor information for the concerts. The city's tourism operation has counted the series among its summer offerings for years. A 2012 department record grouped Hot Summer Nights with Lights on the Lake and Sherman Arts Fest as major summer tourism events. At a 2016 City Council budget session, the city recorded that additional money had gone to Hot Summer Nights and Lights on the Lake, and staff cautioned that some Hotel/Motel Tax Fund spending was not sustainable over the long term, according to the meeting record.
Nearby cities keep separate summer music calendars. Denison's Music on Main, a free downtown series, runs on Friday evenings in June and July, according to the city, rather than the Thursday schedule Sherman follows. In Gainesville, the 2026 Summer Sounds series at the Gainesville Farmers Market has its final concert scheduled for July 31, according to the city calendar.
