KXII published a preview of Callisburg's football program on August 14, 2025, an article built around Corey Roberson's second season as head coach of the Wildcats. Since then the University Interscholastic League has issued a football alignment for 2026 through 2028 that leaves Callisburg in Conference 3A Division II, District 7, while changing the list of schools the Wildcats share that district with.
The station's piece runs under the headline "Callisburg Wildcats Preview" and is posted on kxii.com. KXII's account has Roberson beginning his second year in charge of the program at the time of publication.

Callisburg ISD's own athletics page calls the district "Home of the Wildcats." Football is listed there as a fall sport. The same page names Roberson as athletic director, so the district and the station both identify him with the program, each under a different job title.
The UIL's official alignment for the 2024 through 2026 cycle placed Callisburg in 3A Division II, District 7. The other schools assigned there were Bells, Blue Ridge, Gunter, Howe, Leonard and Sadler S & S Consolidated.
In the 2026-28 alignment, the conference and district number stay put. The membership does not. Valley View is listed in District 7 alongside Bells, Blue Ridge, Howe, Leonard and Sadler S & S Consolidated, and Gunter no longer appears in that group. Counting Callisburg, the district still holds seven schools, with one name in and one name out.

The result is a district roster for the newer cycle that does not match the one in the document covering the previous cycle. Both files put Callisburg in the same conference and the same district number, so the change sits entirely in the company the Wildcats keep there.
Classification separates Callisburg from the larger school closest to it. UIL's alphabetical realignment list for 2026 through 2028 places Gainesville in 4A Division II for football. Callisburg and Valley View appear on that same document in 3A Division II.
The public record assembled here does not address how the season KXII previewed ended. The article carries a mid-August date, which places it before the fall schedule rather than after it, and the UIL files deal with where schools are assigned rather than what they did on the field. Neither the alignment documents nor the district's athletics page reports scores or won-loss records.
Both alignment documents are posted on the UIL's realignment site, which keeps separate football files for the 2024-26 and 2026-28 cycles along with an alphabetical list of member schools and their conferences. KXII's preview remains on the station's website, and Callisburg ISD's athletics information is at cisdtx.net.
