Missouri man arrested on cocaine, prostitution-promotion charges after Grayson County traffic stop

A Missouri man faces drug and online-promotion-of-prostitution charges after deputies stopped his vehicle on U.S. 75 in Grayson County, the Grayson County Sheriff's Office said. The agency identified the driver as Uneal Luease Davis and said the July 10, 2026, stop turned up just over two pounds of suspected cocaine.

Deputies worked with a Pottsboro Police Department K9 team during the stop, according to the sheriff's office. The agency said investigators searched the vehicle, recovered the suspected cocaine and booked Davis on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, 400 grams or more.

That amount falls in the top tier of the scale Texas uses for possession offenses. Under Health and Safety Code Section 481.115, a Penalty Group 1 drug weighing 400 grams or more sits in the statute's most serious weight category. Two pounds comes to roughly 907 grams, more than double the 400-gram threshold.

A second warrant grew out of a follow-up investigation, the sheriff's office said. Investigators determined that Davis had been involved in trafficking several women across more than one state, the agency said, and that warrant listed the charge as online promotion of prostitution.

That charge is separate from a trafficking-of-persons count. Texas Penal Code Section 43.031 applies to a person who uses or operates an online service or online content to promote or facilitate another person's prostitution. The sheriff's office did not list a trafficking-of-persons charge in its statement, and it did not identify the women or name the states involved. The charges are accusations, and Davis has not been convicted.

Grayson County has seen earlier cases that grew out of online escort advertising. The Texas Attorney General's Office said in 2022 that Joylette Blanton of Sherman received a 12-year prison sentence after a child victim was advertised on an escort website, a case the office's human trafficking and transnational organized crime division handled. That prosecution was separate and did not involve Davis.
