Sherman police seek public's help finding homicide suspect Zejorian Walker

Sherman police are asking the public to help locate a 20-year-old man they have identified as the suspect in a homicide, and they are warning residents not to approach him if he is seen. The Sherman Police Department said arrest warrants have been issued for Zejorian Walker on one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a killing that detectives began investigating early on Friday, July 10.

The department said the investigation opened at about 3:38 a.m. that morning. Detectives identified Walker as the suspect shortly after work on the case began, according to police, who said officers continued investigating over several days before turning to the public for help in finding him.

Police identified the person killed as 22-year-old Kedaylen Holt. No further details about the victim were part of the department's public statements used for this report.

At the time of the appeal, detectives had not found Walker and said they were pursuing leads about his whereabouts. Sherman police asked anyone who knows where he is, or who has other information about the case, to contact investigators, and they repeated the warning that he should not be approached if he is spotted.

The request went out through the department's official social media accounts, which Sherman police have used to post updates on the case since the morning of July 10. The verified public information the department released did not name any other suspect, describe a cause of death or motive, or announce an arrest. Police described the matter as a homicide investigation and said Walker was wanted on the charges listed in the warrants.

Sherman police said their work on the case has spanned several days. In the update asking for help, the department said it had continued to investigate the homicide before naming Walker publicly and requesting tips from residents about where he might be.

Sherman police's 2024 annual report recorded one murder during 2024, down from three the year before, while the total number of crimes listed in that report rose from 650 to 699. The annual report is a yearly summary the department publishes covering reported crime across the city. Those figures are department counts for earlier years and are separate from the July 10 case.

Sherman police also maintain an unsolved-major-cases page on their website that lists older homicide entries from 2016, 2018 and 2023. Those entries concern earlier investigations, not the July 10 case. Police said that at the time of the department's public request, detectives were still trying to locate Walker and were pursuing leads on where he might be.
