The defeat left the first-year club at 13-31, last in the league's overall standings as recorded in the final table carried on the Victoria Generals' official website.

Both the final score and the site of the game rest on the winning club's own account. In the result post published on its official Facebook page, Acadiana said it had beaten the ShadowCats, 5-1, and placed the game at Fabacher Field.

The date and the matchup come from the league itself. The Texas Collegiate League's schedule page lists Sherman ShadowCats at Acadiana Cane Cutters for July 26, 2026, and identifies the meeting as a league game. That listing places Sherman as the visiting club, a designation that matches the ballpark Acadiana named when it announced the result.

The league's final standings are mirrored on the official website of the Victoria Generals, another club in the circuit. That table showed Sherman with 13 wins and 31 losses, last in the overall standings. It also marks Acadiana with the symbol used to denote a playoff berth.

The league carries Texas in its name, but its roster of clubs crosses the state line. That geography put Sunday's finale a state away from Sherman's home market.

The team on the losing end was closing out its debut season. That announcement made Sherman and Abilene the circuit's two new markets this year; Acadiana was not part of the expansion.
