Texoma Medical Center in Denison Names Andrew Wilson as CEO

Texoma Medical Center has appointed Andrew Wilson as its chief executive officer, the hospital said in a notice posted to the news section of its website on Monday, July 6, 2026. The announcement concerns the hospital in Denison, in Grayson County, and not Gainesville's North Texas Medical Center, a separate institution one county to the west.

The website notice is the hospital's own account of the hire. In a companion post on LinkedIn, the medical center wrote that it was "pleased to introduce Andrew Wilson" and described him as a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. That official wording is the basis for the broader description of Wilson as a North Texas native. Both postings came from the hospital itself, and they give the same account of the appointment.

State and hospital records identify Texoma Medical Center and North Texas Medical Center as separate institutions. A facility list maintained by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission records Texoma Medical Center's address as 5016 South US Highway 75 in Denison, which places the campus outside Cooke County. Gainesville, the seat of Cooke County, has its own hospital under a different operator.

The hospital Wilson will lead has operated under Universal Health Services ownership for nearly two decades. UHS said in January 2007 that it had completed its acquisition of certain Texoma Healthcare System assets in Denison. The company's release listed acute-care, behavioral-health, rehabilitation and TexomaCare holdings among the purchased assets.

UHS had laid out construction plans before the deal closed. In the release announcing the purchase agreement, the company said it planned to build a 220-bed replacement facility within three years. Together, the two releases form the ownership and facility history behind the present-day Denison campus.

Hospital care in Gainesville runs through a different set of institutions. North Texas Medical Center says the Gainesville Hospital District supports it, and the leadership page on the hospital's website lists Tom Sledge as chief executive officer.

The district has described that arrangement in its own materials. The Gainesville Hospital District says it entered a lease with Community Hospital Corporation effective Dec. 1, 2018, an agreement it says allows care to continue through North Texas Medical Center and sites affiliated with the hospital.

The July 6 announcement applies to the Denison hospital. Texoma Medical Center's posting names Wilson as its chief executive, and North Texas Medical Center's leadership page lists Sledge in the same role at the Gainesville facility.
