For Gainesville and Cooke County readers, the available public documents do not show that a local water system is under that notice.
The Texas Water Development Board's Panola County planning material lists Hollands Quarter WSC with public water system ID TX1830009 among Panola County municipal water user groups. The same state planning document identifies the entry as HOLLANDS QUARTER WSC and ties it to Panola County planning records.
The City of Carthage also lists Holland Quarters Water Supply in its new-resident utility guide. In that city guide, Holland Quarters appears under rural water services, separate from the City of Carthage Water Office.
A TCEQ public-record search for PWS ID 1830009 reviewed for this report returned seven public items dated in 2024 for HOLLANDS QUARTER WSC or PWS ID 1830009, including analysis, sample-collection and investigation records. The search result reviewed did not show an Aug. 12, 2026 boil-water-notice record.
TCEQ's public drinking water page says a non-industrial public water system must notify the agency when an unplanned condition causes a public water supply outage or when the system issues a boil-water notice, do-not-use advisory or do-not-consume advisory. The publicly indexed notice found for Holland Quarters WSC concerned a Jan. 27, 2026 systemwide boil notice tied to a pump-station power outage. That notice was not dated Aug. 12, 2026.
A separate enforcement record in the Texas Register shows TCEQ adopted an agreed order on Aug. 26, 2025 involving Holland's Quarters Water Supply Corporation, docket 2024-1441-PWS-E. The Texas Register entry says the order assessed a $6,000 administrative penalty, with $1,200 deferred. That record does not state that an Aug. 12, 2026 boil-water notice was issued.
Residents who receive water from a provider named in a notice should use their utility account information and the water provider's official notice channel to confirm whether the notice applies to their address. The public records reviewed for this report identify Holland Quarters Water Supply with the Carthage and Panola County area, not Gainesville or Cooke County.
